As we wrap up the first year of the Rapid Reconfigurable Systems Line, we look back to all of the Military Organizations, DOD Pilots, and Events that led to its success.
“Whether or not your platform was designed for attritability, you can expect it will be attrited on the modern day battlefield”
The RRSL was designed to address the Cost-Asymmetry shown on modern battlefields, delivering lethal strikes when necessary, and other capabilities such as Short Range Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance or carrying sensors for a far lower cost than the operational average, allowing for more SUAS platforms to proliferate the battlefield.
“We developed the RRSL as a tailorable system, knowing that every operator wants to get something slightly different out of their drone.” said Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Schnipke. “The RRSL is made as a completely open-source and modular platform, perfect to innovate around, iterate upon, and integrate with other emerging technologies.” For this reason, the RRSL is seen by many as an eighty percent solution, easy to assemble and fly out of the box, but easy to scale in terms of capability by adding fiber conversions, autonomy upgrades, extending range, carrying via VRTX mothership, or by changing the flight profile with different frame kits.
The same modularity that allows tailorability and reconfigurations also allows units to experiment with emerging technology and train on newly formed implementation techniques. The RRSL is developed in partnership with military units across the DOD Service Branches through testing, evaluation, and feedback directly with Soldiers and not in a vaccuum. These units have advanced the RRSL dozens of times
Today, we look back on and thank the organizations that have made the RRSL what it is today, more than a low-cost, US Made platform, but a high-performing and highly advanced attack drone ecosystem.
